This privacy policy applies to the CodecWatch app (hereby referred to as "Application") for Wear OS smartwatches, created by BGProjects (hereby referred to as "Service Provider"). This service is intended for use "AS IS".
Information Collection and Use
The Application is a watch face. It displays the time, date, day of the week, battery level, step count, heart rate, and unread notification count directly on your watch screen, using data provided on-device by the Wear OS platform (via its standard complication and health data APIs).
This data — including step count, heart rate, and notification count — is read and displayed locally on your device only. The Application does not collect, store, transmit, or share this data with the Service Provider or any third party.
The Application does not require an account, does not use analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not use Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to process your data.
The Application does not gather precise information about the location of your device.
Permissions
The Application may request the following device permissions, used solely to display the corresponding information on the watch face itself:
- Body sensors / health data — to display live heart rate and step count.
- Notification access — to display the unread notification count.
None of this data leaves your device.
Third Party Access
The Application relies on the underlying Wear OS platform (provided by Google) to supply battery, step, heart rate, and notification data. Please refer to the platform's own privacy policy for how it handles this data at the operating system level:
Opt-Out Rights
You can stop all use of the Application, including any of the permissions above, by uninstalling it. You may also revoke individual permissions (such as body sensors or notification access) at any time in your watch's system settings, though doing so may prevent the corresponding readout from displaying.
Data Retention Policy
The Service Provider does not retain any user data, as none is collected or transmitted by the Application.
Children
The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age.
Security
Because the Application does not collect or transmit personal data, there is no user data stored on the Service Provider's servers to secure.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes by updating this page. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
